Shadwell’s Pool, Barnes
General description
Shadwells pool is situated in Barnes, South West London. It is set in an area designated for outdoor sports, particularly Athletics and football, although it remains a very peaceful environment.
The water is an old established Estate lake of about 1 ½ Acres in size and surrounded by trees and woodland. It has depths of up to 5 feet with a mainly silty bottom. There are 23 swims, there are also a selection of swims available for the disabled angler with parking and easy access directly outside dedicated swims. Disabled anglers will be given a key when they join together with a club members disabled badge which must be displayed in their car windscreen.
Shadwells is a mixed fishery and contains a good head of fish, with some nice Carp present up to 32lb. This water also contains some good size Roach, Tench, Bream and Perch.
Shadwells Pool is open for fishing from 1st April to 31st March inclusive. There is a Close season which runs 21st December to End of February. The water is patrolled by BMAPS bailiffs who will be on hand to offer advice on productive swims, tactics or any other queries you may have.
This venue is a member’s only water with day tickets available for guests of members.

Night fishing is available on the last Saturday of the month from April – October on a first come first serve booking basis.
Access & Parking
Shadwell’s Pool in Barnes is located next to the Barnes Wetlands centre. If you follow the signs for this you will arrive close to the lake. Look for the Big “Private Fishing” sign on the gates.
Parking is available both in the playing fields carpark (whilst clearly having your BMAPS permit on show) or within the lake grounds. If parking within the lake grounds then priority is given to OAP’s and Disabled members. Parking is also allowed on the outside of the lake perimeter fence. All parking options are free at this venue.
